An excellent source of vitamin A and C, iron and folic acid, Swiss chard is perfect as a side dish with meat, poultry or fish. It has a dark green leaf and a white stalk and is slow to bolt even in hot weather. Beetroot produces a golden orange root with a mild, sweet taste that does not stain. Its edible leaves are also delicious. Growing method: - For better germination, sow early in the season directly in the garden in rich, well-prepared soil. - Harvest the outer leaves first and continue harvesting as needed. - For a continuous harvest, make successive sowings every 2 weeks until the end of July.
