This cactus, unlike many other cacti, loves humidity and does not like direct sun. Originally from the tropical forest of South America, it is happy with average light, and will like the ambient humidity of the bathroom.

During flowering, it should be watered as soon as the soil begins to become dry; the soil can be allowed to dry out slightly when it is not in flower.

In winter, we can offer it a cooler temperature, around 15 degrees, to stimulate flowering subsequently. We will then water very little. From February, we can safely start giving fertilizer every two weeks, until the end of its flowering which will occur in spring.

It can go outside in the summer, in the shade of a tree for example.
