Calatheas are plants which have a great need for humidity and which must be kept away from the sun's rays if we want to preserve their very ornamental foliage. The feather-shaped leaves of this Calathea are pale green with attractive dark green patterns along the midrib. The underside of the leaf is purple. Keep the soil slightly moist. During the winter, apply a bed of clay balls or place it in a terrarium to maintain humidity. Its leaves will tend to turn brown and dry if the air is too dry. A bathroom would also be an ideal place to put this plant. In the evening, their leaves fold on themselves to conserve moisture.
