The "crimson Gold" quince tree has a spreading habit with thorny branches. In spring, even before the leaves appear, its flowers amaze with their number and their bright red color with its golden-yellow stamens, which create a magnificent contrast. It will flower more if it has been covered with snow during the winter. Its semi-evergreen, oval, glossy foliage, appears quietly, at first with a bronze tint, then turning darker green in maturing. Quince, its fruits, are green-yellow, about 5cm. They ripen in early fall, but they are not very sweet, so they are mainly used for processing, in jam for example.
