Hoyas are climbing plants that are very resistant to various growing conditions and are easy to maintain. They like a well-lit spot, but too much direct sun could burn their leaves. They do not like excess water and tolerate drought. You can therefore wait until the soil is dry to the touch, on the first 2 inches before watering. Over time, under optimal growing conditions, they produce clusters of very fragrant star-shaped flowers. The Hoya Eskimo is very pretty with its rounded, fleshy soft green leaves. It produces long stems which easily cling to a trellis or stake, thus being able to cover entire walls in an apartment, and then produce its leaves. It is often grown hanging, creating a magnificent effect.
