- Classic and elegant look
The Epipremnum aureum 'Jade', or Jade Pothos, is the embodiment of classic elegance and resilience. Unlike its variegated cousins, the Jade Pothos is distinguished by its deep, rich, and perfectly uniform green foliage, without any colour variation. This simplicity gives it a timeless beauty. It is the most tolerant of all Pothos varieties to low-light conditions, making it the ideal choice for adding a touch of lush nature to the darkest corners of your home.
Characteristics
- Foliage: Its evergreen, heart-shaped leaves have a beautiful waxy texture and a rich, solid jade-green colour. The absence of variegation allows it to maximize photosynthesis, even with little light.
- Light: This is its greatest strength. The Jade Pothos is exceptionally tolerant of low light. While it also grows very well in medium to bright indirect light, it will maintain its beautiful green colour even in shadier conditions where other plants would languish.
- Habit: It has a classic, vigorous trailing habit but can also be encouraged to climb a support.
- Growth: Its growth is fast, producing long vines that can quickly fill a space.
- Humidity: It is very tolerant and is content with the normal ambient humidity of a home.
- Potting Mix: A standard, well-draining potting mix for houseplants is perfect.
- Temperature: It thrives in the usual temperature range of our homes, between 18°C and 29°C.
- Watering: Allow the top portion of the soil to dry out between waterings. Like other Pothos, it is very drought-resistant and easily forgives forgetfulness.
- Resistances: Extremely robust, it is highly resistant to low light, drought, and common pests.
Use
- Types of Use: It is the perfect solution for difficult spots: hallways, offices without direct windows, or low-light bathrooms. It is also magnificent in a hanging basket or cascading from the top of a shelf.
- Decorative Benefits: Its solid green foliage brings a touch of calm and serenity. It creates a dense and elegant mass of greenery that never goes out of style and effectively purifies the air.
Care
- Fertilizing: Fertilize lightly with a houseplant fertilizer once every 1 to 2 months during the growing season.
- Pruning: Feel free to prune it to control its size, encourage a bushier appearance, or to create cuttings.
- Repotting: Repot every 2-3 years, or when the plant seems crowded in its pot.
