Plant Information:
Our bonsai assortment includes a variety of species, carefully chosen for their aesthetic appeal and ease of indoor care. You might find species with their own unique characteristics in terms of foliage and shape. These miniature trees are cultivated and trained with care to embody the traditional art of bonsai.
Care:
- Watering: Watering should be regular, but allow the soil to dry out slightly between waterings. The frequency will depend on the species, pot size, and environmental conditions. Generally, check the soil moisture daily.
- Light: Bonsai need plenty of light, ideally bright, indirect light. Place them near an east or west-facing window. If natural light is insufficient, a grow light may be considered.
- Temperature: Most indoor bonsai prefer normal room temperatures (between 18°C and 24°C). Avoid cold drafts and direct heat sources.
- Fertilization: Fertilize your bonsai during the growing season (spring and summer) with a diluted, balanced fertilizer, about once a month. Reduce or stop fertilization in the fall and winter.
- Pruning and Pinching: Regular pruning of branches and pinching of new shoots helps maintain the tree's miniature shape and encourages dense growth. More specific instructions may be provided with your bonsai.
Ideal Placement:
Bonsai thrive in a bright location, but away from intense direct sunlight, which can scorch the leaves. A well-lit windowsill, a table near a window, or a space with a grow light are suitable locations. Also, ensure good air circulation around the plant.
