The Monstera deliciosa is a climbing plant from tropical forests. It makes so many aerial roots, because in nature, these are used to climb trees to reach a better lighting. It can climb long distances, 30 m and more, so its perforated (fenestrated) leaves allow it to resist high winds without the leaves breaking. Young leaves will not be perforated, as it only happens as they mature. She will like good lighting, but not direct sun, which will burn her leaves. A high ambient humidity is favorable, for this will allow it to attach itself to the stake, or trellis, otherwise it must be attached. You can remove the roots that are not usefull. It will bring a jungle effect wherever you put it. AKA : Split-leaf Philodendron, Cutleaf Philodendron
