Birkin' Philodendron

Philodendrons are understory plants that adapt very well to their environment. The Birkin philodendron, unlike other philodendrons, is a human-made hybrid with a smaller size and slower growth. It will need support to climb.

• This beautiful houseplant features medium-sized, oval leaves with pointed tips. The stunning white variegation on the leaves looks like delicate brushstrokes, creating a gorgeous contrast with the deep green.

Growing information:

• Light: Prefers medium to bright indirect light. Avoid direct sunlight, which can scorch the leaves. More light will enhance the color contrast.
• Soil: Use well-draining soil rich in organic matter.
• Watering: Water moderately, allowing the soil to dry slightly between waterings.
• Fertilizer: Fertilize once a month during the growing season with a houseplant fertilizer.
• Temperature: Thrives in good ambient humidity and prefers temperatures between 18°C and 24°C (64°F and 75°F).
• Repotting: Repot every two to three years in a slightly larger pot.
• Maintenance: Wipe leaves regularly with a damp cloth to remove dust.

To encourage a bushier plant, pinch off new growth. This will stimulate branching.

The Philodendron 'Birkin' is considered an air-purifying plant and can thrive in rooms with limited air circulation, such as bedrooms.
