The Magnolia 'Susan', perfect for small gardens, enchants in spring with its magnificent, fragrant, star-shaped red-purple flowers. Measuring up to 12 cm in diameter, these delicate flowers have 6 slightly twisted tepals, purple-red on the outside and lighter on the inside. Although the main flowering occurs in spring, sporadic flowers may appear later under adequate humidity conditions. The medium green, oval leaves turn bright golden yellow in fall. This hybrid magnolia is slow growing. Pruning is generally little necessary, but light pruning after flowering can be done as needed.
