The BIOPROTECT Rose Chafer Trap is an essential integrated pest management tool designed to protect your lawn, trees, shrubs, and gardens from adult rose chafers (Macrodactylus subspinosus). Specifically crafted to attract and capture these harmful insects, this trap helps reduce populations and prevent damage to leaves, flowers, and grass roots.

Why Choose the BIOPROTECT Rose Chafer Trap?

  • Highly Specific: Precisely targets adult rose chafers, avoiding the capture of beneficial insects.
  • Increased Effectiveness: Contains a floral scent to attract both males and females, along with a sexual pheromone for males, maximizing capture rates.
  • Extensive Coverage: Protects an area up to 465 m² (5,000 sq ft).
  • Eco-Friendly: Part of the BIOPROTECT range, formulated with natural and organic ingredients for environmentally conscious protection.
  • Reusable and Robust: The trap is built to last and can be used season after season; only the bait needs to be replaced.
  • Easy to Use: Designed for simple and effective setup, even for beginner gardeners.
  • Comprehensive Protection: Aids in monitoring and capturing adult chafers that feed on plant leaves and flowers, and whose larvae (white grubs) attack grass roots.

Directions for Optimal Results:

  1. When to Use: Use the trap from mid-June to mid-August, which is when adult rose chafers are active.
  2. Where to Place: Position the trap approximately 3 metres (10 feet) away from the areas where rose chafers are found.
  3. Height: Place the trap 1 metre (3 feet) off the ground.
  4. Orientation: Face the trap into the wind for optimal bait dispersion.
  5. Maintenance: The bait is designed for a full season (effective for approximately 4 to 6 weeks). Only replace the bait the following season.

Benefiting Plants:

The rose chafer attacks a wide variety of plants. This trap will help protect commonly targeted plants such as:

  • Roses (of course!)
  • Ornamental plants like peonies, dahlias, hydrangeas, irises, clematis, daisies, and **cosmos**.
  • Fruit trees (apple, cherry, plum)
  • Small fruits (raspberries, blueberries, grapevines)
  • Vegetables (corn, beans, peppers)
  • As well as your lawn (against larvae).

Usage Tips:

  • Adult chafers feed on plant leaves and flowers. Their larvae attack grass roots (white grubs), causing significant damage at both stages. This trap is an excellent tool for monitoring and control.
  • For integrated pest management, combine the use of this trap with other healthy cultural practices.
