Installation Instructions
Prepare the rose: Wait until late autumn after a few consecutive hard frosts to ensure the plant is fully dormant. Lightly prune canes to fit comfortably within the cone's volume and remove any remaining foliage to help prevent fungal diseases.
Mound the base: Heap a 15 to 20 cm (6 to 8 in) mound of soil, compost, or shredded dry leaves over the graft union for added insulation.
Position the cone: Gently slide the polystyrene cone down over the rose bush, making sure the canes do not press directly against the inner walls.
Secure the base: Anchor the bottom flange firmly to the ground using bricks, heavy stones, or anchor pegs to prevent wind gusts from shifting or toppling the cone.
