The 'Halcyon' Hosta is widely considered the gold standard for medium-sized blue hostas. It features solid, unvariegated foliage of a deep, pure steel blue. Its thick texture and consistent growth habit make it a perfect foundation plant for any shade garden. This robust variety is celebrated for holding its blue colouration much longer into the summer than most other varieties in its category.

- Soil: Thrives in rich, loose, and moist soil.

- Resistances: Renowned for its very high slug resistance due to the thickness of its leaves.

- Types of use: Perfect as a contrast plant to highlight gold or chartreuse foliage.
- Decorative advantages: Brings a sense of calm and coolness to the garden with its icy tones and impeccable structure.
Maintenance

- Pruning: Clean up dead leaves in early spring before new growth appears.
- Planting: Allow about 75 cm (30 inches) between plants for full development.
