Upright plant with elliptical leaves and bell-shaped yellow flowers. The latter give green paper capsules. Inside the capsules are the golden yellow fruits which are eaten fresh or transformed into a jam or coulis. Harvesting is done when the husk becomes dry, browns and falls off the plant. Leave the fruits inside their capsules until they are a beautiful golden yellow. The fruits are flavorful and sweet, perfect as a topping on a dessert. Rapid growth. Although it is not perennial, it tends to reseed itself when fruit is left on the ground in the fall. Maturity: 75 to 90 days.
