Glaskins Perpetual rhubarb offers juicy stems with a gradient of red and green, ideal for making pies and jams. They have little bitterness, thanks to their low level of oxalic acid. A first harvest takes place in May-June, then a second harvest arrives in September-October. This variety is renowned for its robustness and remarkable taste. Additionally, the stems are a good source of vitamins C and B, antioxidants, and manganese. Fertilize it with well-rotted manure mixed with compost in the fall or early spring. Rhubarb likes rich, well-drained soil. Cut back in the fall. The leaves are toxic.
