The Golden Sagine forms a pretty soft green carpet, dense and low, requiring no mowing, and grows where grass has difficulty establishing itself, but it does not tolerate trampling. With its creeping roots, it can proliferate in humid places, just as well as in the gaps in a rockery. It prefers cool, humid conditions, and does not tolerate drought and heat well. Partial shade is its favorite place. It is perfect for lighting and highlighting the borders of a flowerbed and it is often used in Japanese-inspired gardens, it is associated with hostas and ferns. In late spring, this beautiful golden carpet will be covered in tiny white flowers.
