The 'Issai' kiwi is a self-fertile female plant. However, the presence of a male Arguta variety will be very beneficial, producing larger fruits in greater quantities. Its fruits reach maturity in October and are very sweet, and the skin very tender. It can take up to 3 years after planting before producing its delicious oblong fruits of around 2.5cm long.
