The 'Black Satin' mulberry, a vigorous, thornless variety producing shiny, delicious black berries from late July to the first frost of autumn. Pretty little pink flowers in spring. Self-fertile, ideal for fresh consumption, preserves and jams. A single harvest, but abundant (6 to 8 weeks). Easy to maintain, prune branches that have produced fruit after harvest. No need for winter protection, tie the stems into bundles in the fall. Plant it in rich, well-drained soil. Heat tolerant and fast growing.
