Why Choose the BIOPROTECT Japanese Beetle Trap?

  • DUAL ATTRACTION: It combines a floral bait to attract both male and female beetles, and a sexual pheromone specifically targeting males, ensuring maximum capture.
  • EXTENSIVE PROTECTION: Covers a vast area up to 465 m² (5,000 sq ft), ideal for protecting your garden, lawn, trees, and shrubs.
  • REUSABLE AND DURABLE: Made from robust plastic, this trap can be used season after season; simply replace the baits.
  • CHEMICAL-FREE: Offers an environmentally friendly control method, without the use of chemical pesticides.
  • EASY TO USE: Its assembly and installation are straightforward, allowing for quick and efficient setup.

Usage Period

Install the trap starting mid-June, as soon as the first adult Japanese beetles appear. Leave it in place until mid-August, the peak period of their activity, for continuous effectiveness.

Directions for Optimal Results

  1. ASSEMBLY: Assemble the trap according to the instructions provided on the packaging.
  2. BAIT PLACEMENT: Insert both types of baits (floral and pheromone) into their designated compartments. These baits are designed for a full season.
  3. HANGING: Hang the trap at a height of about 1 metre (3 feet) from the ground, in a sunny location.
  4. LOCATION: Place the trap approximately 3 m (10 ft) from the plants most vulnerable to attacks, such as roses, grapevines, raspberries, and fruit trees. It can also be placed near compost areas or leaf piles where beetles like to lay their eggs.
  5. MAINTENANCE: Empty the trap regularly to maintain its effectiveness. Replace the baits the following season.

Additional Tips

  • For maximum protection, consider placing multiple traps strategically around your property.
  • Avoid handling the baits or trap with bare hands to prevent leaving human scents that could deter the beetles.
